Just a quick question, what are the members thoughts on the scoring system for league games? Is a move to the scoring system of PAR 11 a good or bad thing? Just an idea as a lot of clubs are moving to the standard.

Think it’s a great idea, but only if we move to an hour court bookings rather than the current 40mins especially when it’s 30 degrees. I know Mote are trialling this on one of their courts. Be interesting to see what their feedback is.

As a month has gone by since this subject was posted it would appear from the responses that there is not a lot of interest in it. When PAR 11 was introduced a few years back it was put to the vote on whether we wanted to adopt it or not. We had then and still have today the option of using it or remaining with the HIHO standard that we use. At the time PAR 11 was rejected for at least the one reason that court time would need to be longer. As far as I know all Clubs playing Kent league continue to play HIHO as well as in Kent league games themselves. As was said then PAR 11 is for the professionals, we are only an amatuer Club and unless there is a majority call for it I would think that we will be continuing with the HIHO standard of scoring for the foreseeable future.

I was only asking for thoughts as another club I play at use the PAR system. I just wondered what people thought. Probably not the best place to ask as I don’t think many of the clubs members use the website. How comes the PAR system is used at club nights?
